Cholecystitis

How Chinese medicine differentiates cholecystitis — gallbladder inflammation — into the six patterns you'll actually meet in practice, and the points for each. Distinct from this site's own Gallstones page. Acupuncture only — no herbs.

This page is educational, for practitioners and students — it is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace a proper in-person assessment. Acute cholecystitis (persistent right-upper-abdomen pain with fever) needs prompt medical evaluation — it can require antibiotics or surgery; acupuncture here is supportive of the underlying pattern, not a substitute for that care.
General Acupuncture Points

Acupuncture points traditionally used for cholecystitis (supportive, alongside medical evaluation) — 8 key points, used across the patterns below rather than tied to just one.
