Clinical manifestations: Abdominal cramping and pain relieved by passing stool, urgent straining with incomplete evacuation, stools with mucus and blood that are foul-smelling, burning sensation at the anus, fever or feeling of body heat.

2. Spleen Deficiency with Dampness

Clinical manifestations: Loose, watery stools often with mucus but no blood, chronic recurrent diarrhea, abdominal bloating and fullness worse after eating, fatigue and lack of energy, heaviness in the limbs.

Treatment principle: pale, swollen body with teeth marks, white greasy coating, moist surface,soggy and slow, soft and weak, especially at the right middle position

Clinical manifestations: Abdominal pain leading to diarrhea, worse with emotional stress, pain along the ribs or flanks, diarrhea triggered by anger or frustration, frequent sighing and irritability.

Treatment principle: normal or slightly pale body with possible teeth marks, thin white coating that may be slightly greasy,wiry overall, distinctly wiry at the left middle position, softer at the right middle

Clinical manifestations: Fixed, stabbing abdominal pain, dark clotted blood in the stool, pain worse with pressure and at night, palpable hard mass in the abdomen, dusky or purplish complexion.
