Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

How Chinese medicine differentiates SIBO into the 5 patterns behind it, and the points for each. Distinct from this site's own Excessive Gas and Flatulence and Alternating Diarrhea and Constipation pages. Acupuncture only — no herbs.

SIBO needs a confirmed diagnosis (usually breath testing) and medical management — acupuncture may only ever support that care, never replace it.
General Acupuncture Points

Acupuncture points traditionally used for SIBO — 3 key points, used across the patterns below rather than tied to just one.
