1. Qi and Blood Deficiency
Clinical manifestations: Persistent deep fatigue unrelieved by rest; a pale or sallow complexion; shortness of breath on minor exertion; heart palpitations; dizziness; poor appetite; spontaneous sweating; a thin, weak body.
Tongue: Pale, possible teeth marks, thin white coating. Pulse: Fine and weak, especially at the right middle position.
Treatment principle: Tonifies Qi and nourishes Blood to strengthen the Spleen's capacity to produce healthy Blood and restore immune defenses.
Note: moxa is appropriate. No combined Qi-and-Blood-deficiency slide exists on this site's decks — no pattern link is given here.
Clinical manifestations: Distension or pain along the ribs and flanks; irritability or a short temper; frequent sighing; a plum-pit sensation in the throat; breast tenderness or swelling; irregular or painful menstruation.
Tongue: Normal or slightly dark with red or purplish sides, thin white coat. Pulse: Wiry, like a taut guitar string.
Treatment principle: Courses the Liver and resolves constraint by smoothing Qi flow, preventing stagnation from congealing into Blood stasis and Phlegm accumulations.
Note: no moxa.
3. Damp-Phlegm
Clinical manifestations: Copious white phlegm easily coughed up; a heavy sensation in the body and a muzzy, foggy head; soft, mobile masses rather than hard lumps; chest stuffiness; upper abdominal bloating.
Tongue: Pale, swollen with scalloped edges, thick white greasy coating, wet surface. Pulse: Slippery or soggy.
Treatment principle: Dries Dampness and transforms Phlegm by restoring the Spleen's transport function, preventing Phlegm from clumping into pathological masses.
Note: no moxa. This site's decks have no standalone Damp-Phlegm slide distinct from an organ-specific one — no pattern link is given here.
Clinical manifestations: Fixed, stabbing pain that does not move, worse at night and with pressure; a dark or purplish complexion, lips and nails; palpable, hard, immovable lumps or masses.
Tongue: Purple or dusky with stasis spots, distended dark sublingual veins, thin white coat. Pulse: Choppy or wiry.
Treatment principle: Breaks Blood and dispels stasis by invigorating circulation, dissolving congealed Blood that forms fixed masses and causes stabbing pain.
Note: no moxa. Linked to this site's own Liver-Blood-stasis slide per the discoloration-marker rule.
5. Spleen Deficiency with Dampness
Clinical manifestations: Abdominal bloating worse after eating; loose or unformed stools; heaviness of the body and limbs; fatigue and lack of energy; a pale, puffy tongue with teeth marks.
Tongue: Pale, swollen, teeth-marked, white greasy coating, moist. Pulse: Soggy and slowed, soft at the right middle position.
Treatment principle: Strengthens the Spleen and drains Dampness, restoring digestive capacity and fluid transformation while preventing Phlegm condensation.
Note: moxa is appropriate. No standalone Spleen-Deficiency-with-Dampness slide exists on this site's decks — no pattern link is given here.
6. Toxic-Heat
Clinical manifestations: High fever or a burning sensation; a red, swollen, hot, painful mass or skin lesion; intense thirst with a desire for cold drinks; restlessness and irritability; dark, scanty urine or constipation.
Tongue: Red with prickly raised papillae, dry yellow coating. Pulse: Rapid and forceful, often full or overflowing.
Treatment principle: Clears Heat and resolves toxicity by draining the Fire that fuels rapid growth, severe pain, and systemic inflammation.
Note: no moxa. This site's decks have no standalone Toxic-Heat slide — no pattern link is given here.
