Clinical manifestations: Cold, aching low back and knees, fatigue and lack of energy, frequent, clear urination, loose stools or diarrhoea, insomnia with palpitations, flushing sensation in the face.
Tongue: Pale, puffy, with teeth marks and a moist white coat, the tip may be slightly redder. Pulse: Deep, slow, and weak, especially at the Chi (proximal) positions.
Treatment principle: Restores warmth to the lower body while anchoring floating upper Heat, to rebalance the Heart and Kidneys.
Note: moxa strongly indicated on the Yang-tonifying points (not KI-1). This site's only combined Heart-and-Kidney slide, Kidneys-and-Heart-not-harmonized, is Yin-deficiency-and-Empty-Heat-framed rather than Yang-deficiency-with-floating-Heat-framed — a mechanistically different picture, so linked instead to the closest-fitting Kidney-Yang-deficiency slide, flagged: the floating-heat-to-the-face component isn't captured by that slide's own text.
2. Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) Qi Rebellion
Clinical manifestations: Sensation of Qi rushing upward from the lower abdomen, lower abdominal fullness or tightness, feeling of a lump or obstruction in the throat, anxiety or internal restlessness, nausea or urge to vomit.
Tongue: Often normal-coloured with a thin white coat, may be slightly pale if Blood deficiency is present. Pulse: Firm (Lao) in all positions, or hard and full at the middle (Guan) position.
Treatment principle: Descends rebellious Qi and restores normal downward flow to settle the Stomach and the Penetrating Vessel.
Note: this site's pattern decks are organized by the twelve regular organs and don't include a Curious (Extraordinary) Vessel pattern such as Chong Mai Qi Rebellion — no pattern link is given here.
Clinical manifestations: Flushed, hot face, cold feet, throbbing headache at the temples or crown, bitter taste in the mouth, intense irritability and quick temper, red, painful or burning eyes.
Tongue: Red body with redder sides, dry yellow coating, possibly red prickles. Pulse: Wiry, rapid, and forceful, especially at the left middle (Guan) position.
Treatment principle: Drains excess Liver-Fire while protecting lower body warmth, to restore balanced temperature regulation.
Note: no moxa. Direct exact-name match with this site's own Liver-Fire-blazing slide.
