1. Blood Deficiency with External Wind
Clinical manifestations: Wandering itch that comes and goes, dry/rough/flaky skin, pale or sallow complexion, aversion to wind or drafts, dizziness, dull brittle nails, itching worse at night.
Tongue: Pale, thin body with thin white, slightly dry coat. Pulse: Fine, possibly wiry at left middle and floating superficially.
Treatment principle: Nourish Blood and moisten Dryness, dispel Wind and stop itching.
Note: moxa applicable on the tonifying points. This site's Liver-Blood deficiency slide has no Wind component, so no pattern link is given here — the same well-established absence found for Seborrheic Dermatitis, Athlete's Foot and Fungal Skin Infection.
Clinical manifestations: Skin feels hot, especially evening; night sweats; five-palm heat; dry mouth/throat worse at night; flushed cheekbones; restlessness.
Tongue: Red, thin, dry body with cracks and little/no coating. Pulse: Fine and rapid.
Treatment principle: Nourish Yin, clear Deficiency Heat.
Note: no moxa. Direct match, reusing the well-established Kidney-Yin/Empty-Heat slide.
3. Qi and Yin Deficiency
Clinical manifestations: Persistent tiredness and physical weakness, dry mouth with little desire to drink, shortness of breath worsened by exertion, five-palm heat, night sweats.
Tongue: Red or pale-red body with thin/absent coating, possibly cracked and dry. Pulse: Fine and weak, often rapid.
Treatment principle: Tonify Qi, generate fluids, nourish Yin.
Note: moxa applicable throughout. No deck on this site combines Qi and Yin deficiency into one slide, so no pattern link is given here.
4. Damp-Phlegm
Clinical manifestations: Heaviness in body and limbs, thick white greasy tongue coating, chest/upper abdominal stuffiness or bloating, poor appetite/nausea/loose sticky stools, dizziness/brain fog.
Tongue: Pale, swollen body with scalloped teeth marks and thick white greasy coat. Pulse: Slippery, may feel soggy at right middle.
Treatment principle: Dry Dampness and transform Phlegm, regulate Qi and harmonize the Middle Burner.
Note: no moxa except tonifying points. No deck on this site has a generic Damp-Phlegm slide outside the Lungs, so no pattern link is given here.
5. Body Fluids Deficiency
Clinical manifestations: Thirst with desire to drink water, dry mouth and cracked lips, dry rough flaky skin, scanty dark urine, dry hard stools, absence of itching or heat sensation.
Tongue: Red, dry, thin body with cracks and little/no coating. Pulse: Fine and rapid.
Treatment principle: Nourish Yin and generate fluids, moisten dryness.
Note: no moxa. No deck on this site has a general Body-Fluids-deficiency slide independent of a specific organ, so no pattern link is given here.
