1. Wind-Phlegm
Clinical manifestations: Sudden speech loss or severe slurring with a stiff, deviated tongue, copious white frothy sputum, facial deviation, dizziness and heavy head sensation.
Tongue: Slightly pale, swollen with teeth marks, thick white greasy coating. Pulse: Wiry and slippery.
Treatment principle: Scour Phlegm and open the orifices while calming internal Wind.
Note: no moxa. This site has no standalone Wind-Phlegm slide anywhere in its decks (confirmed a fourth time, after Seizures, TIA and Jaw Stiffness), so no pattern link is given; points still link fine individually.
Clinical manifestations: Sudden speech loss, irritability and restlessness, bitter taste, red complexion, thick yellow sticky phlegm sensation.
Tongue: Red body, swollen, thick yellow greasy coating. Pulse: Slippery and rapid.
Treatment principle: Clear Heat and transform Phlegm while settling the disturbed Spirit.
Note: no moxa. Matched to this site's own Phlegm-Fire-harassing-the-Heart slide — bitter taste, red face, phlegm and mental restlessness line up directly, even though the source's own name for this pattern omits \"Fire.\"
3. Empty-Wind Agitating in the Interior
Clinical manifestations: Deep red trembling tongue with minimal coating, severe fatigue, night sweats, dizziness and dry eyes, limb tremors or spasms.
Tongue: Crimson, thin, dry, possibly trembling with little coating. Pulse: Fine and rapid.
Treatment principle: Nourish Yin and extinguish Wind to anchor floating Yang.
Note: no moxa given the Yin deficiency. This severe deficiency-driven \"Empty-Wind\" picture is the same confirmed-absent category first identified for Transient Ischemic Attack and reinforced by Febrile Seizures — no matching slide exists anywhere on this site. No pattern link is given here; points still link fine individually.
Clinical manifestations: Stabbing or fixed headache, dark or dusky complexion, dark purplish lips, hemiplegia or limb numbness, pain worsening at night.
Tongue: Purple or dusky body with stasis spots, distended dark sublingual veins, thin white coating. Pulse: Choppy, possibly wiry.
Treatment principle: Invigorate Blood and dispel stasis while opening obstructed collaterals.
Note: no moxa. Direct match with this site's own Liver-Blood-stasis slide via the well-established dark/purple stasis-spot-tongue marker.
Clinical manifestations: Slow, effortful speech worsening with fatigue, profound weakness, weak voice, reluctance to speak, dull complexion, fixed stabbing pain.
Tongue: Pale body with a dark or purplish tinge, purple spots, teeth marks, thin white coat. Pulse: Deep, fine/weak, choppy.
Treatment principle: Tonify Qi to propel Blood while dispersing stasis in the collaterals.
Note: moxa applicable on the tonifying points. Despite the deficiency framing, the purple spots and fixed stabbing pain are genuine stasis markers, so this is linked to the same Liver-Blood-stasis slide as Pattern 4 (capped at two links to this slide on this page, consistent with the established convention), rather than declined outright.
Clinical manifestations: Slow, effortful speech worsening with fatigue, dizziness and vertigo, tinnitus or hearing loss, weak lower back and knees, poor memory, premature greying, frequent nighttime urination.
Tongue: Pale, thin with little or no coating, possible fine cracks. Pulse: Fine, deep, weak at both Chi positions.
Treatment principle: Nourish Kidney Essence and open the orifices to revive consciousness and speech.
Note: moxa applicable on KI-3. Direct exact-name match with this site's own Kidney-Essence-deficiency slide.
