Leg Pain

How Chinese medicine differentiates general leg pain into the five patterns you'll actually meet in practice, and the points for each — complementing this site's own more specific leg pages (Sciatica, Knee Pain, Common Peroneal Neuropathy, Cold Feet). Acupuncture only — no herbs.

This page is educational, for practitioners and students — it is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace a proper in-person assessment. Sudden leg swelling, warmth and pain (possible blood clot), or pain with numbness/weakness spreading rapidly, needs prompt medical evaluation before assuming a simple pattern.
