Oral Mucositis

How Chinese medicine differentiates oral mucositis, the six patterns you'll actually meet in practice, and the points for each. Supportive care alongside oncology management — acupuncture only, no herbs.

This page is educational, for practitioners and students — it is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace a proper in-person assessment. Oral mucositis most often follows chemotherapy or radiation to the head/neck — this page is supportive care alongside the oncology team's own protocols, not a substitute for them. Signs of a spreading infection, inability to eat or drink, or fever need urgent medical attention.
